Josef Dörr (born July 16, 1938 in Illingen ) is a German politician ( AfD ). He has been state chairman of the AfD Saar since 2015 and a member of the 16th Saarland state parliament as well as chairman of the AfD state parliamentary group since 2017 .

Life

Dörr is a former special education teacher . When the Catholic special school for the learning disabled in Wustweiler -Hosterhof was founded in 1966 , he became the headmaster of the school with 52 children. In 1980 he was transferred to the special school L Saarlouis .

Dörr is an Esperantist , member and former chairman of the Saarland Esperanto Association and publishes publications in the planned language Esperanto . On the parliamentary site of the Saarland state parliament , Dörr describes himself as a “ scientist and author”.

Dörr joined the Junge Union in 1955 and was active in the CDU for 23 years . He was chairman of the community association and district chairman and was a member of the district council of the Neunkirchen district from 1974 to 1979 . In 1978 he joined the Christian Social Voters Union , was state chairman and in 1980 ran unsuccessfully for the state parliament . From 1984 he belonged to the Greens and worked in the party for 28 years. He was the district chairman and state treasurer. From 1994 to 2009 Dörr was a member of the City Association of the Saarbrücken City Association (since 2008: Saarbrücken Regional Association).

Dörr has been a member of Alternative für Deutschland since 2013. He is assigned to the right wing of the party. In 2015, he was elected state chairman of the AfD Saarland just before his predecessor Johannes Trampert . Several leading members of the Saarland AfD resigned from their party positions in protest; Trampert announced his resignation from the party.

The Saarbrücker Zeitung and the Stern researched close contacts to the Free Citizens Union and a desired cooperation between this party and the AfD. Dörr and his deputy Lutz Hecker then left their offices under pressure from the federal association. In March 2016, the federal board of the AfD decided to dissolve the state association. The objection lodged thereupon had success at the Federal Arbitration Court of the AfD with suspensive effect. In April 2016 Dörr was confirmed in office with a large majority at the state party conference in Völklingen .

In the state parliament of Saarland , he officiated in the constituent session on April 25, 2017 as old-age president . The MPs of the AfD elected him as their group leader .

On March 31, 2020, the AfD federal board deposed the entire board of the Saar-AfD, and thus also Dörr, due to serious violations of the party's principles or order . Dörr described the allegations as absolutely crazy .
