politics

Müller is an assessor in the state board of the AfD Saar and chairman of the AfD district association Saarbrücken-Stadt. He was elected the top candidate for the 2017 state elections at the state party conference in Völklingen .

In September 2018, the Saarland State Criminal Police Office presented statistics on offenses involving knife attacks. The vast majority of the offenses recorded in it were assigned to German perpetrators, around a quarter to offenders without German citizenship . Of the latter, the proportion of Syrian and Afghan suspects was higher than their proportion of the population. Rudolf Müller thereupon asked the state government in the state parliament about the number of dual nationalities of the perpetrators recorded as German as well as the accumulation of the first names of the perpetrators with German nationality. The answer to the question showed that their 13 most common first names are common names in Germany (although etymologically Hebrew, Russian, Latin, English and Scandinavian origin), namely in descending order: Michael, Daniel, Andreas, Sascha, Thomas, Christian, Kevin , Manuel, Patrick, David, Jens, Justin and Sven. The request for dual citizenships among the German perpetrators produced 14 cases (out of 842 Germans): one French , one Georgian , one Russian , two Italians , two Syrians , three Kazakhs and four Turks .
