Bernhard Wildt (born December 24, 1966 in Wuppertal ) is a German economist, entrepreneur and state politician ( Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), previously Free Voters , Alternative for Germany (AfD)) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . He has been a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament since September 2016 .

Life

Bernhard Wildt attended a grammar school in Wuppertal until he graduated from high school and then did an apprenticeship as a banker at Dresdner Bank AG in Wuppertal. After completing basic military service in the Achim air defense regiment near Bremen, he studied economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum , where he also graduated with a degree in economics . Until 2011 he was managing director in large corporations ( ThyssenKrupp and Xerox ), where he was jointly responsible for IT service in various European countries. Since 2012 he and his wife have been running the guest house "Sonnenhof Wildt" in Gager on the island of Rügen .

Bernhard Wildt is Catholic. He is married and has five sons together with his wife.

politics

In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 , he was over the national list of the Alternative for Germany in the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern elected. Bernhard Wildt was chairman of the finance committee of the state parliament from 2016 to 2017. Since November 2016 he was one of two state chairmen of the AfD Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . On September 25, 2017, he left the AfD parliamentary group with Ralf Borschke , Matthias Manthei and Christel Weißig and founded the “ Citizens for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (BMV)” party, and now belongs to the “Free Voters / BMV” parliamentary group. He also resigned his post as AfD state chairman and resigned from the AfD. He justified his step with the unwillingness of large parts of the party to talk and their lack of distance from violence and right-wing extremism. As a non-party, he was accepted into the CDU parliamentary group on October 1, 2019 .
