Christel Weißig (born October 13, 1945 in Hamburg ) is a German politician (non-party, previously Free Voters / BMV , previously AfD ).

Christel Weißig is a Protestant, married and has two children.

Political career and positions

In 2014 which entered office clerk in the retirement of the AFD Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in. In the same year she was elected to the local advisory board of the Rostock district of Evershagen .

In the run-up to the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 , Weißig used social networks for her election campaign, where she attracted attention with anti-Islamic and anti-refugee comments. In the state elections in 2016, Christel Weißig was elected to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via the AfD state list . She was one of two women on the AfD state list (26 places) and is the only woman who was elected to the state parliament for the AfD. On September 25, 2017, she resigned from the AfD and the AfD parliamentary group with Ralf Borschke , Matthias Manthei and Bernhard Wildt . They founded the short-lived party “ Citizens for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (BMV)” and a parliamentary group of the same name. After the parliamentary group was dissolved, Weissig is now a non-attached member of the state parliament.

On the occasion of the G-20 riots , Weißig asked on Facebook: "Looters are shot immediately, why doesn't it apply to us?" Henning Hoffgaard, spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group, said that Weißig deleted the post after she noticed that he was could also be misunderstood.
