Enrico Komning (born August 6, 1968 in Stralsund ) is a German politician of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 , he was elected to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via the AfD state list . On September 24, 2017, Komning was elected to the 19th German Bundestag .

Life

Komning attended the ten-class polytechnic high school until 1985 and then completed vocational training as a construction worker until 1988 . In 1989 he committed himself to "temporary service", a voluntary employment contract with a time limit of at least three years, which was equivalent to military service in the NVA , with the guard regiment "Feliks Dzierzynski" . The guard regiment was a structural unit of the Ministry for State Security (MfS), the appointment was on a voluntary basis. According to the service career regulations of the MfS, soldiers and NCOs who performed “temporary service” were members of the Ministry for State Security and were in full-time employment with it. In accordance with Section 6, Paragraph 4, No. 1 of the Stasi Records Act , they are accordingly considered full-time employees of the State Security Service while performing this "temporary service" .

After the guard regiment was disbanded in 1990, he was employed as an employed bricklayer. In 1991 he began studying law at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald ; During his studies he became a member of the Greifswald fraternity Rugia . He passed the first state examination in 1996 and the second state examination in 1998 . He has been an independent lawyer since 2000 .

Komning is married and has four children. He lives in Neubrandenburg .

politics

In 2000/2001 Komning was a member of the Rule of Law Offensive party (Schill Party) and a member of the state board, responsible for legal and security policy. From 2010 to 2012 he was a member of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), where he was also a member of the state executive committee and the state committee for interior affairs and law .

In 2014 he became a member of Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) and was a member of the Mecklenburg Lake District board in 2015 and 2016 . In 2015 he became an assessor and legal advisor in the state executive. He is a member of the State Committee on Freedom and Law in Security .

In terms of local politics, he was councilor and parliamentary group leader of the FDP / Free Citizens parliamentary group in the Neubrandenburg city ​​parliament and an expert resident for the FDP / FW / WLGR regional parliamentary group . In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 , he ran as a direct candidate for the AfD in constituency 3 (Neubrandenburg II) and moved into the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via the state list of the AfD, on which he was fourth .

He sympathizes with the right-wing extremist Identitarian Movement and with Pegida . Komning advocates the liberalization of gun law for “self-protection”. Komning said he rejects “socio-political re-education measures such as gender mainstreaming”.

In the 2017 federal election, he was elected to the 19th German Bundestag via the state list . His candidacy as a direct candidate in the constituency of Mecklenburg Lake District I-Western Pomerania-Greifswald II was unsuccessful. He is one of the four parliamentary managers of the AfD parliamentary group in the German Bundestag .

According to the Schweriner Volkszeitung , Komning is said to have declared the abolition of parliamentary democracy and the party system as a goal in 2016 . According to Komnings, the corresponding sound recording was "made without his knowledge" towards the end of 2016 and falsified his implementation into a "modification of parliamentarism".
