One percent for our country

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One percent of our country (even one percent ) is a 2015 established association, as right political campaign project , "network extremely right politicians and activists" or New Right citizens' initiative , partly in the media right-wing and xenophobic is characterized. The main operator is Philip Stein , a right-wing extremist publisher. The co-founders of One Percent are the " Institute for State Policy " , the right-wing populist , conspiracy-ideological monthly magazine Compact , the AfD functionary and chairman of the " Patriotic Platform " , which was dissolved in September 2018 , Hans-Thomas Tillschneider , and the state lawyer emeritus Karl Albrecht Schachtschneider .

On June 29, 2020, the President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution announced at a public hearing of the Parliamentary Control Committee that the association was being reported as a suspected case, as there were serious indications of anti-constitutional efforts.

organization

The association was founded in 2015 and, as “ Greenpeace for Germany”, solicited donations to support actions against the refugee policy of the federal government. Among other things, it is financed through crowdfunding . The chairman is the ethnic activist, author and publisher Philip Stein, who among other things acts as spokesman for the Marburg fraternity Germania and wrote several times for the Blue Narcissus . His deputy is the landscape gardener Helge Hilse.

The association, which calls itself a “citizens 'alliance” or “citizens' initiative”, is well networked, for example with the German and Austrian identity movement around the Viennese student Martin Sellner . The initiative is also supported by the activist, publisher and founder of the new right “Institute for State Policy” (IfS), Götz Kubitschek , the editor of the Querfront magazine Compact , Jürgen Elsässer , and the chairman of the former völkisch “Patriotic Platform” in the AfD , Hans-Thomas Tillschneider.

The association is based in Oybin .

Surname

On its website, the association explains about its name that it only takes one percent of Germans - namely 800,000 people - to develop sufficient power for its goals. For this purpose, organizations (Greenpeace with its German sponsoring members, the SPD with its members, etc.), which, with smaller numbers of members, still have a great influence in Germany. One percent of Germans as fellow campaigners is therefore enough (“One percent is enough!”) And is also “feasible”.

Goals and Activities

The activists state that their goal is to stand up for “the interests of the Germans” and against “illegal mass immigration”. One wants to network the “Germany-wide resistance efforts” against the current asylum policy, which is understood as “Umvolkung”, and thus build a “powerful counter-movement”. Kubitschek describes the project as "a kind of 'NGO' for Germany", a "Greenpeace for Germans". They want to reach one percent of the German population in order to gain political relevance and to bring right ideas into pop culture.

Activities of the association include “vigils” and demonstrations, as well as putting up posters and sending out leaflets. He supports several activist right-wing groups, for example the Identitarian Movement observed by the German Office for the Protection of the Constitution , as Philip Stein confirmed to the world on Sunday . Several actions of the Identitarian Movement have already been financially supported. In January 2017, the Identitarian Movement Austria will be given 10,000 euros in legal aid. According to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the association is playing an increasingly important role for the identities: it wants to be “a financial, legal, journalistic and emotional catchment basin for activists of the movement”. “One percent” is still not observed by the German intelligence service. In January 2017 it became known that "One Percent" wanted to support the Gustav Stresemann Foundation financially, should it be recognized by the AfD as a foundation close to the party .

In March 2017, a post on the club's website triggered a wave of tirades of hate and death threats against the son of SPD deputy Ralf Stegner , which "One Percent" deleted after a hint from the MDR . According to Jochen Hollmann , Head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Saxony-Anhalt , “one percent” has been noticed since the end of 2015, and Götz Kubitschek is now publicly presenting himself as their financier.

According to information from Belltower.News , the association does not draw a clear distinction from neo-Nazis willing to use violence . According to the Institute for Democracy and Civil Society (IDZ) of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation , which has been active since 2016, it is the “interface between the AfD, the“ New Right ”and the classic neo-Nazi spectrum ”. He supported the initiative of the asylum-hostile "Freundeskreis Thuringia / Lower Saxony", in which the NPD is active alongside the Göttingen university group of the AfD youth organization Junge Alternative . According to Vice magazine , the campaign project also supported the “Altenburger Bürgerforum” in East Thuringia, in which well-known neo-Nazis and hooligans were also involved.

One percent's appearances were blocked on Facebook and Instagram in September 2019 . A lawsuit by the network against it was dismissed.
