Gaia Petrone
Gaia Petrone (* in Macerata ) is an Italian opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).
Life
Petrone completed her vocal studies with summa cum laude at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome and made her debut as Apollonia in Haydn's La canterina . She subsequently sang concerts in Italy, the Netherlands and in the Wiener Musikverein , as well as the stage roles of Dorina in Gaetano Latilla's La finta cameriera and Lisetta in Haydn's Il mondo della luna . Since the end of 2012 she has been a member of the Young Ensemble of the Theater an der Wien and sings both minor roles in the historic building and leading roles in the Vienna Chamber Opera branch . In 2012 she embodied Clarina in the rarely performed Rossini opera La cambiale di matrimonio , Alice in Comte Ory 2013 - alongside Pretty Yende and Cecilia Bartoli - and Sibari's trouser role in the much-praised Semiramide ( Leonardo Vinci ) production . She was finally able to achieve a great personal success as La cenerentola shortly before Christmas 2013. In 2014 she was Sesto in the acclaimed production of Mozart's La clemenza di Tito in the Chamber Opera.
