Freight train explosion on October 19, 2013

On October 19, 2013, a Canadian National Railway freight train derailed in the small town in which 13 tankers carrying petroleum went up in flames. Because of the fire, Yellowhead Highway 16 and Range Road 61 had to be closed for hours . There were no casualties in the explosion, but Gainford was evacuated.
