Galilaei is a Martian crater in the area of the Margaritifer Terra area on Mars . The crater is located in the southern part of the Oxia Palus Gradfeld . Galilei is one of the numerous large craters that formed during the Noachian period and ended about 3.7 billion years ago. The crater is named after the Italian polymath Galileo Galilei .
