The Gallipoli Heights are a group of mountains and ridges in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Freyberg Mountains , its center rises 12 km south-southeast of Monte Cassino .
The northern group of the 1963-1964 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him (1963-1964) named them in connection with the naming of the Freyberg Mountains after the Battle of Gallipoli during the First World War , in which the British general Bernard Freyberg, 1st Baron Freyberg (1889–1963) had attended.
