The Freyberg Mountains are a group of mountains in northern Victoria Land surrounded by the Rennick Glacier , Bowers Mountains , Black Glacier, and Evans Firnfeld . The highest point is Mount Camelot with 2590 m .
Scientists from a 1963 to 1964 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it in memory of the British General Bernard Freyberg, 1st Baron Freyberg (1898–1963), who had commanded the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in World War II .
