The Gambia Coalition ( Luxembourgish Gambia-Koalitioun , French coalition Gambienne ) is a coalition of social democrats, liberals and Greens in Luxembourg . Based on the expression Jamaica coalition , which became popular as a result of the German federal election in 2005, the three colors in the Gambian flag symbolize the three coalition partners.

The color red stands for the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party , blue for the Democratic Party and green for the Greens . This coalition was formed for the first time after the 2013 chamber election . In the history of Luxembourg, the Gambia coalition is a specialty, as this is only the second government alliance without the Christian Social People's Party , which had dominated all governments since the post-war period except for the social-liberal government of Thorn (1974–1979).

Even at the Schleswig-Holstein Danish traffic light, there was talk of a Gambia coalition .
