Gambia Technical Training Institute

The Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) is an educational institution in the West African state of Gambia . The campus is located in Serekunda - Kanifing .

The institute teaches its students in engineering, construction, commerce, information technology and trains teachers in these areas. Teaching, which includes around 250 to 300 students, began in 1983.

history

From 2002, Fatou Lamin Faye , who herself had been a student of the institute, was director of the institute. In September 2004 she was on President Yahya Jammeh to the Minister of Education ( Secretary of State for Education appointed). Her successor was Mrs. Fatou Mbye . After Mbye's nomination to parliament, Jahou S. Faal took over the post.

In June 2018, Amie Bojang-Sissoho , spokeswoman for President Adama Barrow , announced plans to develop the GTTI into a university.
