Passage grave Sam

The passage grave Säm (also called Ludesten ) is located east of Tanums Station near road 163 west of Tanumshede in Bohuslän in Sweden .

It was built during the Neolithic Age , about 5000 years ago, by the carriers of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). The passage grave is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems , which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form is primarily found in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands. When the megalithic complex was built, the land was about 20 meters lower than it is today.

The facility is badly disturbed, making it difficult to see details. The capstone has broken into three parts, one of which fell between the bearing stones. On the capstone pieces and other stones next to the grave there are a total of about 80 bowls and some grooves. It is impossible to tell whether the pits were picked while the tomb was still in use or not until the Bronze Age .
