Passage grave at Bjerrebygård
The passage grave of Bjerrebygård ( Danish also Bjerreby Jættestue , Dyssekamre ved Bjergby or Skebjerg called) lying in a field west of the road between Simmerbølle and Tullebølle on the Danish island of Langeland . It dates from the Neolithic Age around 3500–2800 BC. And is a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK). The passage grave is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems, which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form is primarily found in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands.
The Langdysse without a preserved border is still about 20.0 m long (once possibly 30.0 m), 10.0 m wide and oriented east-west. The originally rectangular hill is now more oval. In the hill are the pear-shaped chambers of two passage graves ( Danish Jættestuer ).
The western chamber is about 5 feet long and 2 feet wide. The capstones are no longer in situ . One is in the chamber. A bearing stone and a frame stone still stand in situ from the corridor.
The eastern chamber also measures 5.0 × 2.0 m. The two capstones are there, but one has shifted slightly inward. There are more than a dozen bowls on the northern capstone . A frame and a bearing stone have been preserved from the corridor.
No excavations have taken place.
