Gangsta. ( Spelling GANGSTA. ) Is a manga written and drawn by Kohske . The manga has appeared in Shinchosha's magazine Monthly Comic @Bunch since 2011 . The series was adapted as an anime in 2015 .

The series is set in the town of Ergastulum, which is full of mafia, petty criminals, prostitutes and bribery cops. The story tells of two henchmen, Nicolas Brown and Worick Arcangelo, who can be hired by anyone and do the jobs that no one else wants to do. One day, they meet the prostitute Alex and dark secrets emerge.

publication

The manga has been published since January 21, 2011 (issue 3/2011) in the magazine Monthly Comic @Bunch by Shinchōsha in Japan. The individual chapters have so far been published in seven edited volumes (as of September 2015).

The German manga has been published by Carlsen Manga since August 2015 in eight volumes. Viz Media publishes the series in the USA , a French version is published by Glénat and a Chinese version by Tong Li .

A spin-off manga called Gangsta: Cursed. EP_Marco Adriano has appeared in GoGo Punch magazine since April 9, 2014. The manga focuses on the Mafia member Marco Adriano, a character from the original work. The first anthology was published on July 9, 2015, the fifth and last in 2018. From March 2017 to August 2019, the offshoot was published by Carlsen in German.

Adaptations

Anime

An anime adaptation was made in Studio Manglobe under the direction of Shūkō Murase ( kantoku ) and Kōichi Hatsumi ( series director ). The anime debuted in Japan on July 1, 2015 on Tokyo MX , Asahi Broadcasting Corporation , TV Aichi, and BS11 . The anime will also be streamed on Bandai Channel and Niconico . The series ended with 12 episodes on September 27, 2015.

In Germany, the anime was licensed by Nipponart and ran as a simulcast on Anime on Demand .
