Ganigan López (* 12. November 1981 in the municipality of Amecameca , México , Mexico ) is a Mexican boxer in the flyweight and current world champion of the WBC . He is southpaw .

Professional career

In his debut fight on August 7, 2003, López defeated Gabriel Ramirez on points unanimously over 4 rounds. His 2nd fight, which took place in the same year against Oscar Saturnino, brought the same result. López lost the direct rematch against Saturnino on points and had to accept his 1st defeat in his 3rd fight.

López won the vacant WBC Latino title at the end of July 2007 when he stopped Vicente Hernandez in a round 9 battle with a technical knockout . He then defended this title twice against Vicente Hernandez, each time by knockout. In his next fight, on March 21, 2009, he lost the title to Jose Alfredo Zuniga, who made his professional debut with this fight, over 12 rounds by split judge decision, but fought in July of the same year against Zuniga in a direct rematch for the vacant WBC Caribbean Boxing Federation Title (CABOFE) with a knockout victory in the 3rd round.

In 2010, López won both the WBC Latino belt, which he had already held, and the vacant silver title of the WBC against Omar Soto in a fight against Gerardo Pionon. He defended the WBC silver title in 2011 against Armando Torres on points over 12 rounds and against Omar Rosales with a technical knockout in round 7.

At the end of October in 2015, López went on a flyweight excursion and won the WBC Latino title there by defeating Juan Luis Lopez by TKo. On April 4 of the following year López went against the Japanese Yū Kimura for the WBC world championship in light flyweight. López was able to win this battle by majority decision and thus celebrate his greatest success as a boxer so far.
