Gantimurow (noble family)
The house of Gantimurow (Cyrillic: Гантимуровы, also: Gantimourov (a), Gantimouroff, Gan-Timur and Gan-Timour) is a Russian princely family .
origin
The family comes from the Siberian Evenks or the Mongolian Dauren . She was one of the landowners in Daurien . The name is derived from the Mongolian Gan: steel, Tömör: iron . By decree of 1686 the tsars Ivan V and Peter the Great confirmed the prince status ( Knjas ) to the house of Gantimurow .
