Garðar Gunnlaugsson (born April 25, 1983 in Akranes ) is an Icelandic football player .

Career

Gunnlaugsson began his career at ÍA Akranes . In 2004 the striker moved to Valur Reykjavík , where he worked until 2005. He then went to Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland, but soon returned to KF Valur in Iceland. From summer 2006 he was with IFK Norrköping in the Superettan , the second Swedish league, under contract and was top scorer in the 2007 season.

In August 2008, Gunnlaugsson moved to Bulgaria to CSKA Sofia . He couldn't convince there and hardly got any playing time. In January 2010 he terminated his contract and then joined the traditional Austrian club LASK Linz , with which he signed a contract valid until summer 2012.

In the 2010/11 season Gunnlaugsson played for the German third division club SpVgg Unterhaching . For SpVgg, he scored his only league goal in a 2-0 home win against VfR Aalen on the 23rd match day of the 2010/11 season .

After 6 years in Europe, Gunnlaugsson is returning to Iceland and has been back in his home country since 2012 for Landsbankadeild ÍA Akranes .

Gunnlaugsson has played for several Icelandic youth selections but has not yet played an international match.
