García Sánchez
García Sánchez (* 1009 - 13 May 1029 in León ) was Count of Castile from 1017 to 1029 .
Life
García was the son of Sancho García , Count of Castile. He followed in 1017 after the death of his father as Count of Castile. As a minor, his mother Urraca was regent until 1025. His brother-in-law, King Sancho III , had a great influence on the government . from Navarre, who was married to García's older sister Munia Mayor . García was murdered in León in 1029, where he was supposed to marry Infanta Sancha . He was buried in the monastery of San Salvador de Oña, which his father founded in 1011. His sister Munia Mayor and her husband Sancho III followed him in the county of Castile. of Navarre.
