The garden house in the Klosterbergegarten is a listed former toilet house in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt . Today it is used as an exhibition building.

location

The building is located on the southern edge of the Klosterbergegarten on the north side of Benediktinerstraße in the Buckau district of Magdeburg .

Architecture and history

The single-storey brick building was built in the Swiss house style in 1896 . The window openings are designed as segmental arches. The brick-faced yellow facades are structured with red brick bands. It is equipped with flat projecting gable roofs covered with wooden truss rods are decorated.

In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a toilet block under registration number 094 18027 as a monument .

The building is considered to be part of the monastery mountain garden, which is also a listed building. Currently (as of 2019) it is used as an exhibition building for the exhibition Listen, Telemann! used for the life and work of the composer Georg Philipp Telemann .
