Gary Frank (* 1969 ) is a British comic artist.

Life and work

Frank, who is from Great Britain, started working as a full-time comic book artist in the early 1990s. Early on, he concentrated on getting involved with leading US publishers. In the 1990s, he drew for the publishers DC Comics , Marvel Comics , Top Cow and Image .

While Frank for Marvel initially one-shots as the Saber Tooth Special # 1, X-Men Supreme and the X-Men Annual recorded in 1995, he designed for DC to by W. Mike Barr authored the graphic novel Batman : Dark Knight Dynasty (1997 ), Chuck Dixon's One-Shot Black Canary / Oracle: Birds of Prey # 1 (1996) and the special Flash : Tangent # 1 (1997). He also worked as a guest artist for ongoing series such as JLA (# 15) and Doctor Srange, Sorcerer Supreme (# 82, 83). A particularly frequent artistic partner of Frank during this time was the American author Peter David for the Frank stories for such series as The Incredible Hulk (# 403-418, 420-423, 425) and Supergirl (# 1-9) ins Picture set.

For the Wildstorm Publishing House Frank drew some issues of the series Gen13 (# 25-32) while for Top Cow in the series Midnight Nation participated (# 1-12).

Frank created the Kin series published by Top Cow himself, which he not only drew but also wrote himself and to which he also holds the rights. Another frequent partner of Frank was the ink pen Cam Smith, who reworked Frank's drawings on series such as Hulk, Supergirl and Gen13 .

In the recent past, Frank took on various engagements for Marvel series such as Motormouth (# 1-4, 6), Supreme Power (# 1-18), Squadron Supreme (# 1-5, 7), the Marvel One-Shot Saga of Squadron Supreme # 1 (2006), while he only worked for DC exceptionally, for example as the draftsman of the Stan Lee special Just Imagine Stan Lee With Gary Frank Creatin Shazam (2002) and the Wonder Woman Annual # 1 (2007).
