Gary Langan

Gary Langan (born April 19, 1956 ) is a British sound engineer and record producer .

He began his career at the age of 18 when he learned the work of a sound engineer from Gary Lyons and Mike Stone as an assistant at Sarm Studios (East) . From 1979 to 1983 he was director and chief sound engineer at Sarm Studios West.

In 1983 Langan co-founded the London record label ZTT Records with Trevor Horn , his wife Jill Sinclair and Paul Morley . He was still a founding member of The Art of Noise , but split from the band in 1987. Langan co-produced the album Happy? the band Public Image Limited from 1987.

In 1985 he founded Metropolis Studios, which he headed until 1993.

Langan produced some remixes for the singles of successful artists at the time in the 1980s .
