Gary Williams (basketball coach, 1953)

Gary Leroy Williams (* 1953 ) is an American basketball coach .

Life

Williams led the women of TV Bensberg 2001 to promotion to the 1st women's basketball league  and then looked after the Bensberg women in the 2001/02 season in the first division. In the summer of 2002 there was a separation between Williams and TV Bensberg.

He was the coach of the Hürther BC league team, and in mid-December 2003 he took up the post of coach at the women's Bundesliga team TV Bensberg (RegioBerg BasCats). He remained in office until the end of the 2003/04 season.

From February 2006 to the end of the 2005/06 season he was in charge of BSG Ludwigsburg in the women's Bundesliga.

In the 2006/07 season Williams was coach of the Luxembourg men's first division club AS Soleuvre. He later worked at TSV Grünberg and looked after the women at FC Bayern Munich .

In the summer break of 2010 he was introduced as the new coach of the women's second division club BBZ Opladen. He stayed in Opladen until the end of the 2010/11 season. Later he took over the coaching position at the women's regional division Hürther BC.
