Garzón is a town in Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the Maldonado Department in Sector 7 in the Sierra de Garzón . Garzón is located about 25 kilometers north-northeast in the hinterland of José Ignacio in the east of the department. The Arroyo Garzón , which flows past the village to the east, forms the border with the neighboring Rocha department . South of Garzón the Arroyo de Pereira flows into the Arroyo Garzón, north of the Arroyo Campamento .
history
By Law No. 9.587 ( Ley 9.587 ), Garzón was classified as a pueblo on August 21, 1936 .
Infrastructure
The Montevideo - La Paloma railway runs through the town. This connects Garzón with San Carlos . Ruta 9 runs a few kilometers south .

Garzón had 198 inhabitants at the 2011 census, 96 of them male and 102 female.
