Gasthof "Zur Rose"

The "Zur Rose" inn is a listed building in the town of Gernrode, part of the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . It is no longer in operation as an inn.

location

The farm is located north-west of the Gernröder town center north of a road at the address An der Rose 1 and is listed in the local monument register as an inn.

Architecture and history

It is assumed that the property emerged from a customs house or road house and an inn connected to it and served as an Ausspannhof . It was outside Gernrode in front of the house gate . The construction of an inn Zur Rose is documented for the year 1480. The current building, which serves as a residential house, was built as a two-story half - timbered house and, according to an inscription, dates from 1779.

The courtyard is built on three sides. The partly ruinous economic buildings were also built in half-timbered construction, but were partly built later than the residential building.

The shooting range of the rifle guild was located near the courtyard . It was moved to the Stubenberg in 1847 .

The inn was closed in 1915.
