Gavin Baddeley

Gavin Baddeley (born  December 28, 1966 in Cambridge , England ) is a British journalist and author. His books mostly deal with topics from the field of Satanism and satanic rock music .

life and work

Born in 1966 to a couple of psychologists, Baddeley spent his childhood and adolescence mainly in his English hometown of Cambridge, the Scottish Sussex and California . Baddeley studied Medieval European and Modern American History at the University of East Anglia . It was also around this time that Baddeley began to acquire extensive knowledge of the history of the occult .

In the years that followed Baddeley worked as a freelance journalist for the magazines Metal Hammer and The Observer , among others , and he also wrote a number of non-fiction books , most of which deal with Satanism in general and Satanic rock music in particular. The best-known work of Baddeley, who has occupied the rank of Reverend in the Church of Satan in California since 1995 , is Lucifer Rising: A Book of Sin, Devil Worship and Rock 'n' Roll (Plexus Publishing, 1999), which combines history and the present dedicated to Satanism.

As an expert on the history of the occult, Baddeley has also worked on numerous TV productions for broadcasters such as the BBC and Channel 4.
