The Gavlpiggen (Norwegian for fork tip is) a low and isolated mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 3 km southwest of the Klakknabben immediately north of the Kirwanveggen .
Norwegian cartographers, who named it descriptively, mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) created between 1958 and 1959 .
