The Gawn Piedmont Glacier is a foreland glacier in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . On the Hillary Coast , it occupies the plain adjacent to the Ross Ice Shelf between the mouths of the Darwin and Byrd glaciers .
The so-called Darwin Glacier Team of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) named him after John Edward Gawn (* 1919), who worked as a radio operator at Scott Base during the research trip .
