The Darwin Glacier is a large glacier in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . It flows from the polar plateau in an easterly direction between the Darwin Mountains and the Cook Mountains to the Ross Ice Shelf .
The lower section of the glacier was mapped during the Discovery Expedition (1901–1904). New Zealand participants in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) eventually crossed the entire glacier area. It was named in connection with the Darwin Mountains after Leonard Darwin (1850-1943), Honorary President of the Royal Geographical Society .
