Schloßstraße: No. 30 in front

The former inland mill Schwerin (also called Gräfenmühle ) stood here, a water mill that played an important role for the city for around 700 years. It was operated until 1853 and then abandoned in favor of urban development. The river ditch from the Pfaffenteich to the castle lake past the mill was piped at the beginning of the 20th century.

The three- and four -story neoclassical building from around 1870 with the neo-renaissance facade, the distinctive two-story richly decorated bay window and the pronounced cantilevered cornice contain half-timbered elements from the miller's three -story house and the four-story mill half-timbered building. The half-timbered structure is still preserved on the courtyard side facing Klosterstrasse. In 1889 the leather goods dealer Heinrich Herbordt from Schwerin bought the building and it remained in the family property.

The renovated building now houses shops, offices and apartments. From 1996 to 2001 the weever pharmacy was also located here .
