The building of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund is a high-rise in Berlin .

history

The skyscraper of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund ( formerly BfA ) was planned and built by the architect Hans Schaefers and is located on Hohenzollerndamm in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf . The 95.4 m high building (100 m with technical equipment) was built between 1973 and 1977 and is located in the immediate vicinity of Berlin Hohenzollerndamm train station .

Since 2013 the building has been extensively renovated for a planned amount of € 175 million. The high-rise is to remain unchanged in its original shape after the renovation.

The outer shell of the high-rise consists of an aluminum cladding that is rounded at the outer ends of the building. The skyscraper is reminiscent of the silver tower of the former Dresdner Bank headquarters in Frankfurt am Main , both in its shape and in its use of materials .
