The Bundesgymnasium 18 Klostergasse is located at Klostergasse No. 21-25 in the district of Währing in the municipality of Vienna . The school building is a listed building .
history
The school was built in 1906 by the building construction department of the Imperial and Royal Lieutenancy.
At the end of the 2018/19 winter season, the Währinger Bad in Klostergasse 27 is to be closed and then demolished. A gymnasium for the grammar school is to be built on the property by 2023.
architecture
The simple five-storey block-like school building shows itself on the facade with grooves and mansard attics. The neoclassical foyer has a double flight of stairs. The spacious staircase has a remarkable banister.
There is a war memorial with a marble relief Fallen Warriors by the sculptor Heinrich Karl Scholz (1930).
