The memorial plaque at "Karolinenplatz 5" is a memorial in Darmstadt .
History and description
In 1675 the new “Birngarten” building area was walled. A gate tower was built towards the Herrngarten and the Residenz Palace . A red sandstone tablet was attached to the outside and inside . When the gate was demolished in 1739, one of them was placed on the head of the wall next to the house "Alexanderstraße 4".
Today the memorial plaque hangs on the parapet of the terrace in front of the administrative building of the Technical University of Darmstadt - roughly in the same place as in 1739.
The plaque commemorates Ludwig VI. , Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt .
