Geertje Nissen

Geertje Nissen (born September 22, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German soprano .

Life

The daughter of chamber singer Hanns-Heinz Nissen embodied roles in opera and operetta. In 1999 she was awarded the title “Chamber Singer” by the Palatinate District Association. In the 2010s she switched to the character subject and the drama stage. She was a permanent member of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern for 30 years until the 2008/2009 season . Guest performances led her a. a. to the Wiesbaden State Theater , the Opéra du Rhin Strasbourg , the Saarbrücken State Theater and the Tyrolean State Theater. As a guest she stayed at the Pfalztheater after 2009 and was seen there in productions of operas, operettas and musicals. In acting she last played the title role "Käthe Hermann" in the play of the same name by Anne Lepper . In 2017 she was awarded the big golden pin for 50 years of membership by the German Stage Members' Cooperative (DGBA).

On October 26, 2019, Ks. Geertje Nissen was made an honorary member of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.
