The homestead at Alte Tieckower Straße 5 in the town of Havelsee , in the Tieckow part of the municipality, is a listed residential building with associated stables. It is the oldest house in Tieckow and is characterized by its so-called black kitchen, which is centrally located in the house, and its still-preserved chimney .
Building
The one-story house was built around the year 1780. It is the oldest preserved house in Tieckow. At that time, houses were built with the kitchen as the central space. In this an open fireplace was operated on a brick floor. A tripod was placed over the fire, over which one could cook . The smoke was drawn off directly through a chimney. In such a chimney, food could be hung up for smoking and thus preserved. The windowless black kitchen in the middle of the house has been preserved to this day. The chimney with a jacket chimney also still exists, even if the kitchen and chimney were separated by a cap that was drawn in more than 100 years ago .
In the middle of the Alten Tieckower Straße is the double-winged entrance door with an only slightly decorated frame . To the right and left of this main entrance there are two unadorned windows with shutters . There is also a simple eaves cornice . This runs around the house and thus also as a cornice over the gable side of the house walls. Above this cornice there is a window in the gable wall. To the right and left of these windows, the letters W and T were profiled slightly protruding on the west side and two anchors were incorporated on the east side. In the east wall there is another window below the described cornice. The roof on both sides has a hipped and the aforementioned mantel chimney.
In addition to the residential building, the property has a stable, barn and shed, which are also part of the monument.
