Secret agent Lennet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Secret agent Lennet (in the original Langelot ) is the German title of a successful French book series for young people by the renowned writer Vladimir Volkoff , which he published under the pseudonym "Lieutenant X" (German: "Leutnant X") with Librairie Hachette. Between 1965 and 1986, 18-year-old Lennet had 40 adventures in the style of a young James Bondthat took him to the most exotic locations. The author, who himself worked for the French intelligence service, describes the everyday life of the agents during the Cold War in a target group-oriented manner and started a real cult in France. In addition to France and Germany, books in this series have also appeared in Spain, Portugal and Italy. In 1981 an offshoot was released: "Corinne" (based on a character Lennet had met in his first adventure). After two missions, however, this series was discontinued.

In Germany, Franz Schneider Verlag published 18 books by the young secret agent who, on behalf of the fictitious intelligence service Service national d'information fonctionnelle SNIF (in German translation also FND = “French intelligence”), put an end to opposing agents and dangerous gangsters - and on the side always found enough time for a platonic flirt . In 1987 Schneider-Ton produced (with little success) three radio drama episodes, which (like the book series) were not continued.

In France there has been a successful new edition of the Editions du Triomphe series since 2000.
