Brain Training ( English. Brain Challenge ) is a computer game by the company Gameloft , which was originally developed as a system for increasing one's own thinking skills for cell phones and iPods .

After the initial release in September 2006, versions for Nintendo DS , Xbox Live Arcade and N-Gage 2.0 followed in early 2008 . The version for XBLA climbed to number one on the sales charts immediately after its release.

Gameplay

The game is divided into four cognitive categories: logic , math , visual , and memory. The puzzles can be played in three levels of difficulty and a "digital coach" gives feedback on personal strengths and weaknesses. The Xbox Live Arcade version has a special fifth category of creativity .

Game modes

Brain training basically offers two different game modes:

  • Daily test : The level of difficulty of the puzzles depends on the skill of the player.
  • Training room: Allows the player to individually select the categories and the level of difficulty.

The XBLA and Nintendo DS versions, as well as part 2 for the mobile phone: "Brain Training Vol. 2 Stress Manager" also offer:

  • Creative mode : A relaxed test of your own creativity.
  • Stress mode : A challenging mode in which the player is put into a stressful situation by annoying noises and visual impressions.
  • Brain charts : Detailed statistics on the brain performance achieved so far.

Multiplayer

The Nintendo DS version supports up to three players via WiFi , the adaptation for Xbox Live Arcade can be played offline and online Xbox Live with up to four people, the XBLA platform also offers leaderboards for the game.
