Ashok Gehlot

Ashok Gehlot ( Hindi : अशोक गहलोत , born May 3, 1951 in Jodhpur ) is an Indian politician of the Indian National Congress (INC). He has been Chief Minister of Rajasthan since December 17, 2018 . He held this office from 1998 to 2003 and then again from 2008 to 2013.

Gehlot studied economics and has worked as a social politician in the lower house of the Indian parliament ( Lok Sabha ) since 1980 . He was promoted by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi , who recognized his political potential early on. Since then he has held leading positions in various ministries.

Gehlot is Hindu and has been married to Sunita Gehlot since 1977. He has 2 children and lives in Jodhpur, Rajasthan .
