The Mittenwald Violin Making Museum is a museum in the Mittenwald market in the Upper Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

Mittenwald is one of the centers of musical instrument making in Germany. The museum was founded in 1930 and has been in its current location since 1960 in one of the oldest houses in Mittenwald. The exhibition shows the violin making trade and its development linked to the local history of Mittenwald. Violin making has dominated local history since the 17th century.

The individual work steps in the manufacture of a violin, a historic violin-making workshop, smell samples of various materials used in violin making (e.g. paint) and audio samples are shown. One focus is the life and work of Mittenwald violin maker Matthias Klotz and his descendants. Historical films on the subject of violin making are shown. Guided tours in a demonstration workshop are possible for small groups.
