The Geikie Glacier is a glacier in central South Georgia . It flows northeast to Mercer Bay at the southwest end of Cumberland West Bay .
It was first mapped during the Swedish Antarctic Expedition under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld . He named the glacier after the British geologist Archibald Geikie (1835-1924), head of the British Geological Survey from 1882 to 1901.
