Geiselbrechthof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Geiselbrechthof (also outdated Geiselbrechtshof ) is an estate in Wulzeshofen in the municipality of Laa an der Thaya in Lower Austria .

history

In the formerly heavily swamped area, which is now protected as a salt steppe, archaeological finds indicate an early settlement. In the 13th and 14th centuries the remote place called Geiselbrechts was mentioned several times in documents, in 1396 Duke Albrecht enfeoffed a Johann von Roggendorf with Gülten on housed subjects to Geiselbrechts. It can be assumed that the settlement was built around the manor and lasted until the early modern period. At this point there is now only the generously developed manor. In the cadastral map the situation is listed as Geiselbrechtshof .
