Yellow list Identa
The Yellow List Identa is an online tool for the search and identification of drugs. With Yellow List Identa tablets, capsules and other drugs can be identified quickly and safely and checked for divisibility. It originated in a book-based list of destinations for identifying solid oral medicinal products , which has been considered a long-standing standard work for the identification of medicinal products in pharmacies. It is a medium that enables the identification of individual tablets, dragees or capsules through true-to-original and systematically sorted photos and thus promotes drug safety. The Yellow List Identa is part of the Yellow List Pharmindex family of the Neu-Isenburg media company MMI .

The drugs are determined solely on the basis of external criteria: color, shape, weight, size and, if necessary, break lines, embossing or printing. The 2015 edition contained 380 pages and more than 5000 faithful illustrations. The figures have been supplemented with information on the divisibility of the dosage form. The IDENTA yellow list was further improved at the beginning of 2017. In addition to thousands of images, Medical Media Informations GmbH (MMI) now also provides descriptive texts for the tablets.
The data from the Identa Yellow List is also available on CD-ROM and on the Internet. In addition, the leading pharmacy software houses are supplied with the Identa data. In this way, the true-to-original images of the preparations reach a large part of the electronic pharmacy systems.
The verification takes place according to the information tablets or dragees, hard or soft gelatine capsules or other forms of the preparation, whether round, oval, oblong or a special shape. Dimensions such as length, height, width, diameter and weight can be entered as search criteria.
This function is used intensively in hospitals and care facilities in particular to find out the information required on the relevant medication. Doctors or nursing staff can, for example, quickly and easily clarify which medication a patient may have taken.
The Federal Court of Justice also referred to the Identa yellow list in patent litigation.
