Gelibolulu Mustafa Alî

Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî ( Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî bin Ahmed bin Abdülmevlâ Çelebi , born on the night of April 25, 1541 in Gallipoli ; died in 1600 in Jeddah ) was an Ottoman historian and administrative officer of Croatian descent. He lived as a Dīwān writer first in Aleppo and later in Damascus and then followed Lala Mustafa Pasha to Cairo, where he wrote a description of the city. He wrote the first known biography of Ahmed Bican Yazıcıoğlu , the author of an Ottoman cosmography . He was also known as the author of Masnawī double verses in the Ottoman-Turkish language (Tuhfetü'l-uşşâk) about famous Islamic mystics ( Sufis ) based on the model of Nezāmis . He is the author of a prince's mirror (Naṣīḥat-nāme) .
