The house at Gellertstrasse 17 is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in Magdeburg's Stadtfeld Ost district on the west side of Gellertstrasse.

Architecture and history

The three-story house was built in 1913 by master mason and carpenter Paul Semmler, who also became the owner. The plastered building with a symmetrical facade has two projections that flank the central entrance to the house. The risalits are provided with loggias and have large roof bay windows. The design of the facade is based on the tradition of the Deutscher Werkbund and combines elements of late Art Nouveau and neoclassicism .
