Church and missionary work Arche

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The church and mission organization Arche e. V. (or Ark for short ) is, according to its self-image, an evangelical-reformed free church and an international missionary organization based in Hamburg-Stellingen . Until the end of 2008, the church and mission work belonged to the Bund Freikirchlicher Pentecostal congregations . The exit from the free church community association took place for theological reasons.

local community

The church sees itself as a free church with a proximity to evangelical reformed churches . The leadership consists of a council of elders, which includes pastors as well as volunteers. The services are characterized by a mixture of modern and older worship and worship music. The sermons are available online. There are house groups and a music and choir work. The service areas of the community include different meeting points, e.g. B. for children, youth, senior citizens, women, scouts ( Royal Rangers ).

A study center belongs to the congregation, which offers basic faith courses and in-depth biblical knowledge and offers cross-congregational offers. There are international study days in cooperation with the Martin Bucer Seminar .

The congregation works together with other congregations within the framework of the Evangelical Alliance and the Working Group of Christian Churches in Germany and represents the Lausanne commitment .

Mission work Arche

The Arche has become well known through its pastor Wolfgang Wegert , who founded the Arche missionary organization with the broadcast of his first radio sermons on Radio Luxemburg in 1984 . In addition, there were numerous large-scale evangelistic missions throughout Germany, which Wegert organized together with other Pentecostal churches on site. Inquiries from abroad led to long-term activities in Brazil , India , Malawi (Africa), Russia (Kaliningrad region) and Ukraine .

Since 1987, the Arche has been broadcasting religious television programs via various private channels in Germany and other countries (mainly in Eastern Europe ). An archive with PDF files has been available since the end of 2002; the newer programs can also be heard as MP3 files. The broadcasts are accompanied by pastoral care by letter , email and telephone . In mid-2002, Die Arche and other partners became a founding member of Bibel TV , a Christian television station that was not used for broadcasting Arche programs for a long time. The self-produced television programs are currently distributed in Germany via Anixe , Sport1 , Bibel TV and rheinmaintv, and in Switzerland via Switzerland 5 and 3 Plus TV .

Webshop and in-house publications

The Missionswerk distributes a newsletter and several times a year the magazine Die Taube with information and news from the congregation and Missionswerk Arche. Both publications are free. The Missionswerk offers various evangelistic writings and other media via the dove and its own web shop.
