The non-profit housing company of the city of Linz GmbH (GWG) is the housing company of the city ​​of Linz founded on June 4 , 1941 . In 2010, GWG managed 18,543 apartments, 52 terraced houses, 317 retail spaces and 4,886 garage spaces. The city of Linz is the majority owner of the GmbH with 95% . Immorent AG holds 5% (as of 2010) . In addition to real estate management , construction technology and construction management as the company's main business areas, lift and balcony extensions (with independent supporting structures ) are also being built on existing properties .

In 2007, the former housing association was Agrolinz Melamine International GWCL ( G emeinnützige W ohnungsgesellschaft the C hemie L inz AG ) adopted by the GWG with a total of 1,896 administrative units. In 2008, the Franz Hillinger senior citizens' home was opened in the Urfahr district with 128 rooms. The company is a member of the Austrian association of non-profit building associations .
