Community of Carinthian Slovenes

The Community of Carinthian Slovenes (Slovenian: Skupnost koroških slovencev in slovenk ) is a non-partisan interest group for Carinthian Slovenes . The current chairman is Bernhard Sadovnik.

Their main work is the representation of the Carinthian Slovenes. It also supports and promotes projects for language retention, strengthening relations between Austria and Slovenia and offers language and trial courses for the Slovenian language . In addition, the organization leads the project “Sponsorship for Multilingualism”.

In total, the organization has over 1300 members in over 36 parishes.

history

The community of Carinthian Slovenes came into being in 2003 after a dispute in the Council of Carinthian Slovenes . It is thus the third representative organization of the Carinthian Slovenes.
