The Community of the Holy Angels was a religious community that was founded in 1926 by the mission bishop Franz Xaver Geyer specifically for the pastoral care of the Catholic Germans abroad . Initially located in the Villa Wilhelma in Bad Godesberg , the community with more than 100 members acquired the monastery complex of the former Benedictine monastery Banz from Duke Ludwig Wilhelm in Bavaria in 1933 . After the number of members had decreased and the community had become too old, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, close to the CSU, took over in 1978the Banz monastery complex. The community of the holy angels could not have raised the funds for further maintenance. In 1998 the community was dissolved, the last living member is Pastor Hans Ammer, born in 1933.
