Gemma Rose Veronica McCluskie (born February 5, 1983 in London , † March 1, 2012 ) was a British television actress , best known for her role as Kerry Skinner in the British daily soap EastEnders .

On March 1, 2012, Gemma McCluskie disappeared from her London apartment. On March 6, the trunk of her body was discovered in a suitcase in Regent's Canal in London , and her arms and legs were found in several plastic bags a few days later. Her brother Tony McCluskie, who had been heavily dependent on the cannabis drug Skunk for several years , was convicted of his sister's murder on the basis of testimony and video recordings . He apparently killed Gemma with a blunt object after an argument in the shared apartment, dismembered her body and then sank the remains in the canal. Her head was only recovered in September 2012. Tony McCluskie has been serving a minimum sentence of 20 years since 2013.
